LEITSC Priority
Exchanges for RMS
In
2005, the LEITSC RMS Functional Standards Committee identified several
different internal and external data exchanges that a RMS should be able
to perform. Some of these exchanges have been developed by LEITSC and
can be found
here...

Resolutions
NSA Resolution
Requested
to the FBI that the N-DEx project reference and apply the LEITSC RMS
Functional Standards in the development of the RMS capacity
within N-DEx.
NOBLE Resolution
Supports the work that LEITSC has done
on developing the Standard Functional Specifications for
Law Enforcement CAD and RMS.
IACP Resolution
Supports the Law Enforcement Information Management
Section and LEITSC. |
NIEM 2.0 IEPDs
The IEPDs below were developed using the
NIEM 2.0 data model. IEPDs developed using GJXDM 3.0.3 are available
upon request.
An Information Exchange Package document
(IEPD) is a collection of artifacts that describe the structure and
content of an information exchange. It describes that data involved
in an exchange, but does not specify other interface layers (such as
web services). IEPDs are typically created using the GJXDM and/or
NIEM data models.

Summary |
|
RMS Summary Response
 |
Supports
response to an RMS Query which requests information
based on; person, location, object, or offense. This
response is designed to provide high-level information
about the existence of more information while the actual
detailed response would be supported based on the
IEP/IEPD built to support that particular type of
information (such as a Warrant, Protection Order, etc..) |
|
RMS Query
 |
Supports
sending an RMS query based on; person, location, object,
or offense. This query is designed to support
broadcasting a request for information across multiple
record management systems where a summary response will
notify the requesting system or user when a record or
further details have been identified. |
|
CAD to
RMS Transfer
 |
Supports
CAD-to-RMS population of CAD events where CAD and RMS
are disparate systems or agencies. |
|
CAD Unit Status Update
 |
Supports regular unit status and location updating
between CAD and or RMS systems where agencies have
agreement to share such information. |
|
CAD
Request Status Update
 |
Supports
requesting or subscribing to the "Unit Status Update"
exchange where unit location and status information is
regularly transmitted to an authorized agency. |
|
CAD Resource Availability Query
 |
Supports
CAD-to-CAD exchanges where a targeted or broadcast
request can be made to other agencies inquiring about
the availability of a particular resource type (i.e. a
K-9 unit) |
|
CAD Resources Availability Response
 |
Supports
a particular agency CAD response to a previously
received "Resource Availability Query" exchange where
they will provide information about whether the
requested resource is available for deployment |
|
CAD Request for Resource
 |
Supports
automation of CAD-to-CAD exchange related to the request
for a specific resource. This is thought to be an
exchange after either the "Unit Update Status" or
"Respond to Query of Resource Availability" exchanges
have identified the existence of a matching resource.
after a resource request query was sent and or
broadcast. |

CAD Summary Call for Service Information
 |
Supports
CAD-to-CAD Call for Service (CFS) when the originating
agency wishes to transfer ownership of the incident/CFS
form their agency and CAD to another agency and CAD.
This IEP is summary information ~ a separate detailed
CFS Transfer IEPD also exists. |

CAD
Detailed Call for Service
 |
Supports
CAD-to-CAD Call for Service (CFS) when the originating
agency wishes to transfer ownership of the incident/CFS
form their agency and CAD to another agency and CAD.
This IEP is detailed information ~ a separate summary CF
S Transfer IEPD also exists. |
