Standard Functional Specifications for Law Enforcement Records Management System Version II is now available!!

LEITSC is excited to announce the release of the Standard Functional Specifications for Law Enforcement Records Management Systems Version II. Version II retains all 25 of the original functions from Version I but has added such updates as:

1.Language in the General Requirements Section on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and the Justice
Reference Architecture (JRA), Software as a Service (SaaS), privacy and data quality
2.Change term from Traffic Accident Reporting to Crash Reporting
3.Updates to the Protection Order module
4.Discussion of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Data Exchange (N-DEx) exchange program
5.Discussion of the Suspicious Activity Report exchange
6.Discussion of Statutory Registrations

With support from the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), LEITSC has published the Standard Functional Specifications for Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Version I and Records Management Systems Version II.

These tools provide significant guidance to agencies developing a request for proposal (RFP) for purchasing or upgrading a CAD or RMS. They are designed to inform law enforcement about the basic functional requirements that all RMS and CAD systems should have in order to achieve interoperability.
